Canterbury Earthquake Earthquake Update

For those of you affected by the recent earthquake, we are working to make the claims process as smooth and straightforward as we can, to try and get you back on your feet.

For those with a domestic claim, the Earthquake Commission has advised that you should contact them directly, rather than via your insurance broker or insurance company.  You can call them on 0800 DAMAGE or 0800 326 243, or by completing an online claim form on their website www.eqc.govt.nz

We encourage all those with commercial claims to contact their broker to make a claim.  Download a Claim Form here. Brokers are being advised of developments through regular email updates.

The QBE Claims team is contactable on 0800 500 160.  We have dedicated additional staff to speed up the claims process.  Assessors are already at work in the Canterbury area and they are contactable on the following numbers:

McLaren's 0800 66 56 56
Cunningham Lindsey claims@cl-nz.com
Godfrey's 0800 567 723 or claims@godfrey.co.nz

If you have used an assessor for previous earthquake claims we encourage you to use the same assessor this time.

In the meantime, please follow Civil Emergency procedures and do not enter any premises which may be unsafe - keep yourselves and your families safe and secure. Where you possibly can, take photos of any damage.
